The home of Ada Lovelace
This is where computer pioneer Ada Lovelace lived.
This is the London home of mathematician Ada Lovelace (1815-1852), best known for her association and work with computer pioneer Charles Babbage.
Ada was taught maths as an antidote to the influence of her father, the poet Lord Byron. She was the first to recognise that Babbage's calculating machine could have applications beyond pure calculation. She created the first algorithm.
She died of uterine cancer in 1852 at the age of just 36.
